Whats you winter wish list?

Mountlake Terrace, WA(Zone 8a)

It is that all my plants do well, and the larger plants show me some blooms.

I also would like a canopy over my potting bench which is uncovered on the deck and a nasty place in the winter.

Ultimately I want a 4 season greenhouse that I can keep my epis in year around. With a chair in the back to take them in, when life becomes too much.

I wish that my shade/green house gets finished, I get a fan and misting system in there. And I get some blooms!!!

Thinks are looking better out there. My poor Christmas cactus have perked up after they went in there and have buds.

I wish that my grown kids could enjoy plants as much as I do. The peace and satisfaction that comes from gardening is unlike any other. It is a legacy of love that I would love to share. bob

My 5 year old loves all my plants, but is a total screaming banshee most of the time. I too would like a greenhouse, but not at this house.

You could build one with PVC pipe, using screws and not glue. When you move just take it apart and go.

May get mine finished fixed tomorrow. My DB may even wire it for electric.

Remind me after they finish blooming and I would gladly send you some. I need to let them bloom to see who survived the summer. The lose of the oak tree took away their summer shade.

I will try to take pictures but with the shade cloth wrapped around it it will not be easy.
I will try to remember how we put it together. LOL

What would you use to cover a greenhouse built like that? Its a good idea in general, but last night got to the 20's and I need to protect against that.

there is two ways you can cover it. You can cover it with plastic in the winter and shade cloth in summer. Or you can cover it with the corrugated plastic sheets. mine will be covered on 3 sides with this , with one side with the shade cloth under it. The front will be left open except in winter when we will put up the plastic. It also has a corrugated plastic roof. My DB is going to fix it so one panel on each side can be pushed out so we can have a air flow in the summer. Our main problem down here is gets way to hot in there.

the website that I get the special joints from is in the middle of up keep but it is http://www.growerssupply.com

Hi Analog: It took me a long time to get my 4 seasons room, but was well worth the wait. Most of the time I keep it pretty spruced up, but right now there is a large sheet on the floor, a big bag of dirt and some pots so that I can get some cuttings potted before leaving for FL. You might check out this thread: (Hope I got that right, but don't know as it didn't turn blue like the others.)

My green/shade house is mostly done. If the weather clears up I will take a few pictures before the shade cloth goes back up.
