I am wanting to start up a herb garden and would love these. So far I have some regular Basil, Lemon balm seeds, and some sage seeds. I just would love some Stevia plants because what i read they are hard to start from seed, Chocolate mint, and Pinnaple sage. I can trade some Brug cuttings or would be happy to pay for postage. Thanks Brandy
Does anyone have Chocolate Mint, stevia, or pinnaple sage
Brandy, I started some Pineapple sage cuttings about a week ago. If they take I will gladly send some on. Nudge me in a couple of weeks if you haven't found any more.
Thanks i appreciate it. A friend sent me a tiny one but it didnt make it. It was a cutting.
Brandy, it's looking good: the cuttings I took are sprouting new leaves.
I started stevia from seed last year -- it was very easy and I am a novice gardener. Worth a try.
I also started Stevia from seed. Try it.
Any one got a few extra seeds for stevia?
The packet says the seeds only last 6 months. Mine are from last May, but if you want them anyway, you can have them.
I stopped growing Stevia after reading about its possible harmful effects on reproduction and possible link to cancer. Of course, it may be safer than sugar, which is associated with obesity and a host of other health problems, so these are very personal choices. If you want to read more about food additive safety, the Center for Science in the Public Interest has an informative website.
It was very easy to grow, however, just following the directions on the packet. By the end of the summer it was about 4' tall and looked ready to flower. It was not bushy, really just a single tall stalk. Sweet, but not overly sweet, and I could not detect any bitterness.
There are three kinds of Stevia. Regular Stevia, anew hybrid named Candy and the one I'm ordering is Crazy Sweet. I'm getting threee plants for 18.00 plus shipping. I'm ordering some other things from Richters. They also have the Chocolate Mint. I'm also ordering the Blue Cohosh from them. 3 plants for 18.00.
I have Chocolate mint.....
Oh good - 'cause my Pineapple sage croaked. I didn't change my watering practices soon enough after starting up the wood-burning stove, dagnabit.
As soon as it gets warmer, I'll send you some. O.K.?
Just send me a d-mail.
Charleen
