Looks like a flower growing in the blue ginger pot, but wrong size, shape, color, growth habit. What is this?
Maybe they have both male and female flowers and this is the less showy one? Or have I just been hitting it with too much bloomblaster in a vain attempt to get it to flower before I have to bring it inside (any day now)?
Plant is about three years old and hasn't bloomed.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Blue Ginger Question, Does Anyone Know What This Is?
Yes, I know this really isn't a ginger.
That is really cool, Karen. Is it possible a rhizome for something else got potted with the blue ginger? I resembles a curcuma (hidden ginger lily) bloom spike.
Looks almost like some sort of hornstedtia, maybe scottiana ? http://www.chah.gov.au/images/photo_cd/732131822178/037_2.jpg

So, it's not normal, whatever it is.
Strange.
