I know this second photo isn't real good I was hoping for a secondary id shot. Now it seems to look like a different bird to me.

May be a Bananaquit for your first picture. The 2nd picture looks to be a different bird and I,m not sure what it is. St. Croix , where is that?

Well I,m going to have to wrong then, as I don't know where St. Croix is and I,m not sure if I,m seeing snow on the shed in your picture, all in all need location (state) to properly Identify bird's. If St. Croix is in Florida by chance then I would still call the 1st picture a Bananaquit as it matches my field guide.

My mistake - we were on our way to St Croix, the photo was actually taken in San Juan Puerto Rico by the marina.

St Croix is in the US Virgin Islands (Caribbean) Thanks

Ahhh! Well that help's, I will stick with Bananaquit for first one. 2nd picture the hooked bill matches the Bananaquit, but thats all the farther I can get because my field guide is only mainland birds, with the rare visitor here and there.

Agree with Bananaquit for both pics

Buff-breasted Sandpiper

You told me you were going to go look at them back in Oct. Just curious. Getting ready to head to Belize, on a liveaboard dive boat but hopefully I'll still see some birds along the way.

Nope, missed it :-((
