What beautiful Pic's I esp. like the fish, is it a wall eye, or northern Pike, that would make a great dinner, or do you let them go, I love wall eye, I used to have a pet bass, she was 6lbs but I let her go in a big lake, thank you for posting your beauty's
Elizabeth
Beautiful pics! I think you have a great garden!!
Wow, big fish. The biggest fish I ever caught was a pike. We go fishing a lot for trout. And when we get home we smoke them. Jummie!
How sweet of you to throw it back. We don't do that. We eat them. They taste great!
Skylon.
I notied you have brugs in large half barrols. (pic 9) Do you leave them out all winter? Your moniker says you are in Canada - don't they die over the winter or do you do something to them? Please don't tell me you drag those great big barrols in every fall and out again in the spring.
My first brug
skylon, what a beautiful oasis. I think my pic# 4 is my favorite. Makes me want to come and sit in that swing and have a cup of coffee. And you are a fabulous fisherwoman!
Those are all pretty pictures. The fish are great, You Go Girl.
The best of all worlds. Thanks for showing.
Charleen
I take my brugs out of the barrels and put them in smaller pots, cut them back and drag them inside for the winter.
Hahahaha I know I'm crazy
Maryanne
it's amazing what we will do to have some tropicals.
I don't think you're crazy. Unless it's "crazy like a fox"
You know what you want and know how to acheive it.
I think it is great and it works, so Why not!!!!
Maryanne, we are all a little crazy then. In spring, I put all of my tropical plants in de ground (some in pots). But the reason I do this is that the ground doesn't get dry as fast as when they are standing on the ground. And now I brought everything inside. I make some pictures later of my greenhouse.
Lovely Maryanne... great plants/fish and the beauty of the garden setting the plants enjoy is indeed over the top... how old are the ones in the 1/2 barrels.. I love the bonsai look of the thick old wood... and the fresh new flowers..in such a short form.. you said you bring them inside.. is that to a cool dormant winter .. or are they warm and growing... keep up the great work there...
pretty clematis. What is the red flower on the arbor?
Thanks Gordon
This is the first winter I'm putting my brugs to sleep. I'm storing them in my insulated shad that
I had build this year. I am going to put a heater on low to be safe. The big brugs are around 15 years old
and I used to keep them in my sun room over winter. Since they got so big and I have so many I ran out of space
they have to sleep now. I have to many little ones that need to grow so I get to see some flowers next summer.
I like to put them in half barrels, the bigger the pot the bigger the plant. I do not drag the barrels inside, I just put the plants
in a smaller pots for the winter and back into barrels in spring
lovely... i looks like a fireworks display... I mised my night blooming cereus th other day.. the flower was starting...andI watched and waited.. thenI missd an evening.. and in he morning it had come and gone
:( sorry you missed the blooms - only one night!
