Sweet potato recipe

Ok, Thanksgiving is almost here, I have been given the job of making the sweet potato cassarole................... BUT, I don't want to make the same old thing.
Does any one have ideas for a dish that will be so different that my family will eat it, (the old stand by doesn't get much attention when put on the table)
I was thinking of using fresh sweet potatoes sliced, apples sliced, crabberries, and cashews, and to please some a few marshmallows around the edge. with a ginger nutmeg sauce.
How does that sound?????????????
