Tillandsia xerographica culture

Teguise, Spain

I live in a climate which is proving good to grow Tillandsias and Im having great success with them. Last year, I purchased a T. xerographica, took it out of the box, placed it in the sun with my other Tillandsias, and it promptly shrivelled and scorched. I moved it into my shade house, where it then slowly died. Not a good start.
I have recently purchased another, which went straight into my shade house where I have, so far, not killed it. Should this plant be moved into full sun soon, or does it prefer shade........Not deep shade, just screened from direct sun in the same habitat for my Orchids and Hoyas ?

Hey propmaker, I keep mine on my back screened porch which gets sun all day from dusk to dawn, here is a picture of it the other day.... My only experience is with this one plant though....

Like a northerner who gets too much sun the first day of Spring, your xerographica may have just got too much sun too fast. While its native to Mexico and Central America, it probably just needs more time for the new leaves to "toughen." It can take a lot of sun eventually, but a little shade is fine too.

I was thinking that....I'll slowly acclimatize it, this time. Thanks
