Hi All,
Various Gesneriads keep creeping into my collection and Achimenes is one of them. I have several colors of these cute little guys.
I've noticed a few of the old flower bases seem to have swollen ovaries which usually means seed is developing. The pointed bit, that's located where the flower was, is still green. Will the seeds be ripe when the small pointed bit turns brown? Or, Do you have any other tips on knowing when to collect these?
I know Gesneriad seed is usually like dust so I'm prepared for that. I'd love to grow out a few and see what surprises I get. :)
Thanks in advance!
Danita
