Mj, I live in zone 8b/9a - these don't do well in our zone - the summers are too hot and humid - I had four b.b.'s in the ground - three have died so far. You might consider researching and talking to your county extension agent to see how they will do in your area.

Kay, I was wondering about that. I've not had much luck w/ BB's here either. They sell them around here, but I don't ever see them growing.
I thought maybe try one more time, but if your not having any luck w/ them either, well, there's lots of other stuff to try !

Yes, there are many beautiful shrubs we can grow here. If you like yellow, try Cassia bicapsularis. Mine is in full bloom, always loaded with butterflies and is simply gorgeous.

If you like purple, Vitex agnus-castus is a real butterfly magnet - it also comes in pink or white.
