I am leaving tomorrow and leaving my husband with the job of getting the house ready to sell. The garden is NOT his thing. Can I prune back butterfly bushes NOW? in my zone? It has already froze a time or two.
HELP!!! Can I prune a butterfly bush NOW?
I prune back my butterfly bushes, because I get very heavy snows that will break some branches and sometimes cause damage down to the base of the plant. I cut mine back to about a 12 to 15 inches just enough that the larger branches will not get weighted down with snow.
This is the time I usually cut mine.
Thank you for coming to my rescue! I've cut 'em but never REALLY felt like I knew when was correct time.
