Gorgeous plant but I don't know the name but I'm sure somebody else does and you'll probably soon get its name.

I think that one goes by several names and one of them is Red Hot.

I think that may be it. I love the foliage, doesn't bloom that much, or maybe I just don't notice because of the beautiful leaves.

I have a Hibiscus andersonii (H. rosa-sinensis x H. schizopetalus) that looks like that and I know there's another one that similar, with those variegated leaves.

Just found the other one: H. rosa-sinensis 'Cooperii' http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/42378/

here's a pic of my cooperi...this is my 2nd year with her and I haven't seen a bloom, but I don't care...her foilage is beautiful! BTW, I understood she isn't a tropical hib but hardy, zone 8b or 9 & up.

Davis,
She's a tropical, but some are more hardy than others. If I had more than one of my H. andersonii, I'd chance keeping one outside to see how it did. I wonder if anyone has grown an andersonii or a Cooperii outside in z8 or a colder z9 (which is what my area is). Hhmmmm....

It sure is pretty, Deb. Love the pink in the leaves.

Barb, I grew mine outdoors for several years but it was taking too long to get the foliage back after last year's cold winter so I pitched it. This year I am going to try spraying my tropicals with FreezePruf. In previous years if there was a threat of frost I covered them but this product is supposed to increase the cold tolerance by up to 9 degrees. The plants are in bad shape due to repeated deer attacks so I don't have much to lose. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this stuff will work.

Ardesia,
I've heard good things about that stuff. I need to try it, as much as I zone push......

I'm trying FreezePruf this year too--most of my things go in the GH but I'm always running out of room and have to leave a few things outside to fend for themselves so I'm trying it on them.

My DH had a bit of a fit about plants overwintering on our sunroom, not the greenhouse, so FreezePruf might help more than just my plants...;)

LOL same here, I am hoping for less dischord over plants this winter. I am also hoping for fewer sheets and blankets in the garden on cold nights.

I know!! My gardens look like halloween on cold nights!
