Quackers and his girls

Conroe, TX

Some of you may remember Quackers the duck that we adopted from another Daves Garden poster when he was just a wee little duck. Here is Quackers with the girls we got him. They have all adapted to one another quite well.

Forgive me for sounding silly.. but what kind of duck is that? i have never seen one with a poof on its head. They are quite pretty.

The poof headed female ducks are Crested Buff Ducks, the male is I think part White and Fawn Crested Runner. I say part because he is colored feathered like them but does not stand up straight like they do. The other ducks are female Rouens.

Thanks, they are a lot of fun to watch. We are waiting for eggs, the ladies should be old enough now to lay eggs but so far they haven't. Although, yesterday two of them were getting into the nest and making funny noises. Maybe soon.....
