It looks like the Polyphemus moth caterpillar, but there are many that resemble each other.

Thank you! It looked like a horned worm w/o the horn. Do they over-winter in the ground? It was so cute, fat and soft feeling.
They make a cocoon rolled up on a leaf and overwinter in there, they come out in the spring.
I have 11 of them right now, and they are bog eaters, they are one of the silk moths and they are beautiful, I will have to overwinter these guys till spring.
