Winter in Orlando

Orlando, FL(Zone 9b)

May be a dumb question but..........I am still seeing lots of butterflies.
Do Monarchs winter here in Orlando & lay eggs.........should I go back to collecting cats?
work and family issues have interfered with my hobby for a couple of months......and a zipper broke on my nursery. Loads of swallow tails too..... planted some dill & parsely
anyone have fennel seeds?

Thanks

I got this pic today of a Monarch depositing eggs on a Milkweed plant.

Here is a cat munching away on the same plant.

I've still got Monarch and Queen cats here in Tampa. They generally only stop for a few weeks in Jan-Feb. The Swallowtails have slowed down but we are still seeing some Giants ST and Polydamas. So keep collecting and have fun!

Monarchs will over winter and continue to reproduce as long as the weather stays mild. I dont think they live as long as those that migrate. I have had quite a bit of activity as well thanks to the warmer days.

the Monarchs are back and laying eggs like crazy. So a hunting I will go every morning.
I re-built my nursery and finished the fabric and zippers Sunday afternoon. This morning found my first Cat .... who is now in the nursery.
We had our first hummer about a week ago..Hubby spotted it and by the time I looked - she/he is so fast...
flying out of our yard .... just a blur as he/she zips away from the Coral Honeysuckle or Jatropha.
I added new plants to the yard yesterday.
Cigar Plant..
Coralle Red Fuchsia
Gloxinia Sylvatica
Italian Parsley (for the swallow tails to visit, the Garden Center employee guarantees that they will come and lay eggs)
Bringing Porterweed and milkweed to PreK Principle tomorrow to add to their garden.

I LOVE SUMMER...
