I have heard you guys talking about your tractor supply and there will be one about 25 miles from me in a few months. What does this store offer?Do they have a big poultry section? And I have heard you talk about them ordering chicks is that right?Anythin new around these parts is so exciting.
Tractor supply comming near me
I have never really investigated the chick situation at Tractor Supply; they seemed to have a limited selection and didn't talk about ordering more if requested. But it's a great store for feed and all other farm-related supplies, including veterinary items. My granddaughter likes to score a Schleich animal or two for her collection when we go there.
I LOVE Tractor Supply....but I don't know about chicks there. Whenever I visit Wooster Ohio for work, I make sure I stay at a Hampton Inn right across from the local Tractor Supply...they have some great books on keeping poultry and all kinds of supplies, plus some really nice work cloths (especially nice if on sale). I bought $80 muck shoes there for $20 and they are outlasting everything else I have purchased for work. It is the highlight of my trip.
But, then, I am a really cheap date.
I bought some Muck boots there, too, but mine were almost $100. They're insulated, though, and very warm, and they're perfect for those freezing mornings when you have to bring water and food to the chickens.
I haven't noticed the books, but they carry Mother Earth News and that got me hooked on the magazine again!
I shop at Tractor Supply all the time although ours has become increasingly Yuppie. It is hard to find tractor parts for all the "farm art" and John Deere fashions.
They do have a small selection of chicks and ducks each spring and are a good source for feed.
I don't know that ours would be a good source for tractor parts, either. The clothes seem to be geared to equestrians more than to farmers. I was looking for a raincoat there the other day but they were out of everything but the slicker and overall sets. I wanted something with a lining.
I've gotten fencing there, and they carry Taste of the Wild dog food, which surprised me.
