I am in far north central on the Okie border. My daylilys are still green and lush. I am wondering if I should mulch them with pine needles for the winter.......(now?) ..OR should I mulch around them or over the entire plant..should I add compost (bio-sludge) to the soil now or wait til spring?

I don't do anything special for my daylilies for the winter except add a bit more mulch to the area around them. I don't cover them and I leave the area around the crown somewhat covered less than the surrounding area. You can go ahead and add compost now and again in the spring.
