Agapetes serpens

I received a small cutting in trade earlier in the year.got it rooted easliy,it started growing well enough that I was able to share a small cutting. A few weeks back I moved my light bench back into the computer room for the winter. Agapetes was doing fine until a few days ago the leaves on the original stem turned brown and fell off. Now some of the leaves on the new grow have fell off and the tip of that stem feels limp. Stems are naturally dark cinnamon brown so I tugged on the stems to see if the roots might have rotted but it's still seems to firmly rooted. This is my first experience with this plant so I don't know if I did something wrong,it's just reacting to move, going dormant or I'm killing it. Only change in the way I was growing it was the move to one room to another.

They're evergreen, so if it's losing leaves then there's probably something in its conditions that is making it unhappy. I'd check on your watering--if the cutting was pretty well rooted it's possible the leaves can start to show symptoms before the roots are so rotted that you'd notice it when you tug on the plant. I would also look at what's different between the new location and the old one--are the temperature and humidity different? Is there an air vent blowing directly on it? etc.

Door stands open so dogs can go in and when weather permits. Plant stand is on the other wall and not directly in front of door. I'm pretty much watering like always put humidity could be lower.

Watering is always my first suspect in cases like this so I'd still definitely check on that (if the pot's big enough, the finger test is a great way to check--stick your finger down a bit into the soil and see how wet it feels)

As far as environmental conditions--with the door staying open like that, is the temperature in that room a lot different than the room it was in before? Has your weather changed recently? Since it did OK when you first moved it there, I'd look at what's changed recently--since that room is going to have a bit more exposure to outdoor conditions due to the door being open it could be if you've had a hot or cold spell lately that could have had an impact.

If I haven't killed it already,I need to find a new spot for it. Maybe in the master bathroom under a lamp.

Have you checked the watering yet? That is still the number 1 suspect for me vs the room that it's in.

watering when pot feels light and/or finger test shows it to be dry.

I wonder if maybe it's not getting enough water? They don't like to be too dry so that would be a possibility too. More people kill plants by overwatering so I always suspect that first, but too little water can have similar symptoms.

I don't think I've ever let it get really bone dry
