Hoya doing! What hoya is this

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

I received this lovely hoya from bigred many years ago.

Its a slow grower. Its over 12 years old or better and has not gotten very big at all since I got it.

As I recall last it bloomed it had a delicate pink flower but it has been awhile since I have seen any flowers on it.

Red is great for sending labels, but the label I had on it has since faded.

I can make out the letters "eerrii" or something possible like that.

Also, it spent the summer outdoors this season and well, during that time got rather yellow as I had it in a bad location. SInce bringing it back indoors, it has turned back a lucious green and nearly doubled in sice since last year. I did fertilize it a wee bit using oscomote pellets. It is under a light now.

Theleaves are slightly damaged with pock marks from being outdoors, but I think it is relatively healthy!

I am thinking it is "wheerrii"?

I probably have the spelling wrong so if someone knows of a hoya of that lettering, you could possibly help me id this now NOID!

Your plant does look very healthy ... pretty plant! It looks like the regular carnosa to me: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/98263/ and here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/13951/

I am impressed on how it bounced back from being yellow from too much sun I imagine.. it is so dark green now and putting out new leaves. I keep it dry. It may have gotten too much water outside. I did lose another one I had.

Well, when/if it blooms I will have to post a pic! It is sooo very fragrant!

I was thinking carinosa myself, but I am not a hoya person.. just a persone with one hoya! LOL!

I have a few carnosa's and had them in the sun for awhile. The foliage faded and got real yellow until I learned on this forum that carnosa's like lower light. They do green back up and look prettier in lower light situations. Yes, please do post another photo when it blooms!

Yes...looks like H. carnosa to me too.

Well, if it blooms again, I will shoot it for you guys to see.

So is there something in a hoya though spelled like I think above?

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Yes, there is...it is called H. kerrii but it is very different!!! H. kerrii has heart shaped leaves, are VERY thick and succulent and the leaves are MUCH bigger....

There are probably hundreds with the ending letters of rrii, or yii, or llii. ^_^

I don't know if these are all correct photo's as I just googled for images of a few different Hoya's ... and sometimes the photo's shown aren't correct, but just to give you an idea of a few with the ii ending! ^_^

Oh my! Thank you!

Well, since I had two at the tiem og getting them and lostone, it is possible I had the wrong lable in this pot and tossed the other out when the other plant dies so that is leading me to being a carinosa too. So well, when it blooms, we shall see what goes on then! It is very slow growing although this year for some reasone had a bit more growth than others.

Conditions muct have been good for it inspite of its sunburn!
