Does anyone else have fall blooms?

Your flowers are gorgeous and I love the painting you have on the wall behind your shelving.

Thanks, Carolyn! It's my own. I used to be a professional artist. I work large in pastel and small in watercolor.

Sorry to hear about the heat. We had 2 months of rain this summer! I didn't put any epis out.

I don't have any epis that bloom twice a year. But my 4 Schlumbergias do. Personally I think its because I kill them within a millimeter of their lives every winter, and they bloom after I start to water them. Then they bloom again in the fall as they should.

Your plants are indoors. How much sunlight do they receive near a window or are they growing under a plant light?. Mine are under a plant light but I do not have any sun at all.
Love your photos.

I live in a barn and have lots of rooms to play. The epis stay in a cold room (nights down to 55F) for the winter with north light (huge windows). Then I water them every 2-3 weeks. In the spring/summer they stay in north light on a "porch" and indirect south light on shelves in a garage space (with no door) and I water once a week. When I want to push buds into bloom, I bring them to my dining room shelves in southern light (also big windows) and 65F. So far I haven't gotten many of the 40 or so to bloom but they are growing and happy so I live in the future! This one is very consistent (blooms every spring but this is the first year to go from bud to bloom in fall) but I've been warned to take cuttings and start another since the mother plants don't live forever.

How wonderful to have all of that space. If they are happy where they are, why upset them. They will bloom eventually. Keep up the good work.*

The blooms as well as the painting are beautiful. My Christmas Cactus have turned into Halloween Cactus and we are enjoying them now. Pix posted on thread above (technologically challenged -- don't know how to give you info).
