Normally, I would have already repotted one like this where
the roots of this Alocasia are going around and around in the pot.
LariAnn, I hope you read this because I am wondering how pot-bound
it should be before it moves up from this 6" pot to either an 8" or a
1 gallon? Do you need to see a photo of the root ball? It's tight.
When to Repot
You are doing so well with that plant! It is extremely healthy. At this time I would move it up to a 2 gallon only if you think you will have warm weather for at least a month from now. If the plant stops growing or slows significantly, the repotting might be a bad idea. The trick is to keep the plant somewhat underpotted at all times so it never stays too wet.
Make sense?
LariAnn
LariAnn, will you be selling at the Ramble?
Marianne
Marianne,
No, I won't be at the Ramble. However, we will be at Mounts Botanical Garden for the Fall Sale, though. If you want anything in particular, let me know.
LariAnn
Oh I wished I lived closer!!!! Cause I got a list a mile long then....LOL
Oh, NOOOOOOO!!! I just told some folks I was attending the Ramble and a nursery out near Houston, TX when I get there and no more plants for me after that. Now that I know about the Mounts sale, there's no way I can pass that up! I'll visit Aroidia's site and make a list.
Thanks.
Marianne
