RxBenson,
Nice looking cactus. And I bet it takes alot of patience to grow a Cereus like that from seed.
Except, I'm sure that your plant is actually Cereus hildmannianus ssp. uruguayanus.
Example: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/857130/
A couple comparisons: Yours is a brighter blue like C.h.ssp.u., when Cereus repandus (peruvianus) is a slightly darker gray-green or blue-gray.
Yours dosen't have the deep notches (tranverse furrows) above the areoles like these do:

http://www.desert-tropicals.com/Plants/Cactaceae/Cereus_repandus.html
http://cactiguide.com/cactus/?genus=Cereus&species=repandus
In the 2001 book by Anderson "The Cactus Family", it states that the name C. peruvianus has been *misapplied* to C. hildmannianus in a past publication(s). So as a result there are many misidentified Cereus hildmannianus's out there on the internet also.
Here is another discussion about the big mix-up:

Would you like your 2 photos of your plant moved to the C. hildmannianus ssp. uruguayanus page?
Xeno.
P.S. I have also started some C.h.ssp.u. from seed a couple of years ago, photo here:

(Late getting back to you, but...)
Thank you, X!
I have college creds in botany and plant taxonomy, and I had heretofore trusted J.L. Hudson out in CA as a wonderful ethnobotanist, but even he can be in error. (I should pass on your info....) I got the seeds from him l-o-n-g ago, and really thought I had peruviana. Was *proud* to have peruviana....
Go ahead and move my images. I posted them in actuality *because* they didn't match the others. Glad that got cleared up!
P.S. Any idea which future generation can expect to see mine in bloom?
Thanx again.

It looks like it might be ready to bloom in the next couple of years though that's only a guess.
Your photos will be moved soon, but you might want to edit the caption on them.
Xeno.
X --
Do you mind if I pass your name on to another home grower who has been corresponding with me here at Dave's about Epiphyllum oxypetalum? We were talking about the two leaf types, the spade and the spike, and he seemed not to understand that they were part of the same plant and not a varietal difference. Then he sent me a photo and his leaves are succulent palm fronds, not blades!
The flower is identical to all the other night-bloomers -- but all white. I told him that you were a superb taxonomist and might be able to help.
Rx
Sure I'll give it a shot.
Xeno.
RXBenson, I inadvertantly deleted your images from the original PF where you posted them. Could you please repost in the Cereus hildmannianus ssp. uruguayanus plantfile. Thanks,
Todd
