Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Here is my little cedar tree I wish to Bonsai.
I really don't know what kind it is. I do have
a close-up if you need it.
Thank you.

I would let it grow some, let it get some thickness to it. But you want the bottom branches to get light so they will grow.

I need to plant it in a little larger pot, do you think?
Thank you.

I guess it's just you and me this afternoon. And I'm by far, not an epert. I'm waiting for an answer on the bald cypress, on the trimming and growing fatter part.

Maybe we'll get a helper, I hope so.
I need all the help I can get. Do you have a cedar tree too?
I think I will put it in a little larger pot. It is about two years old , there.

Here's the cypress answer.
I do think the pot size matters, some people put them in the ground to grow faster but too much repotting can hurt too.
I tried growing the Southern Red Cedar because my large trees have lots of seeds. I'm doing something wrong. I have some medium sized wild ones out back with pink string tied around the ones I want to dig up this winter. I think they will make great practice trees.

You want a cedar tee? I also have some imosa and Redbud seeds, probably Dogwoods to, if the birds and
squirrels haven't eaten them. I got my cedar out in the woods. so I know I have plenty.
I went ahead and repotted it. It is probably happy now. Poor little thing. I had it in a pot with a mini Crepe Mrytle.
I have a lot of trees in pots. Love them.

Me too, way too much. I wish I could down-size but I'm so attached to everyone of them. I should check my dad's dogwoods for babies or seeds. I have baby Fukien Tea Trees, Carmona microphylla. Waiting to trade with but they are only 1 and 2 inches high. And one Barbados Cherry, Malpighia glabra. And a couple of Sweetgum Liquidambar styraciflua.
You have a trade list? I'll go check.

Bush Morning Glory, Persimmon, Rose of Sharon, Virginia Creeper, Jerusalem Cherry
They all will make great bonsai.

You have any baby Jerusalem Cherry? I don't have any of those. If you see something on my trade list, D-mail me.

I can look, but I do down in thw pasture. I will look tomarrow. and let youknow. I'm positive I've
got some down there , unless you want some seed, have them too.
Oh, you have some nice things, I checked them out a while ago.
I will d-mail you. But tomarrow, I still got to check out those
JC.
