peaches and cream

Blackshear, GA

Here is my peaches and cream finally about to bloom, at least I think. I have had this thing about 3 years and it hasn't hardly grown any. Finally this year, it has really grown, but not by the others standards. I think I read somewhere the varg. are slow growers. These are blooms, right? Do they not hang down like the others?

Well you'll surely have flowers soon... the plant is looking exceptional... great leaf color and health... but tell us.. how and what do you feed it.. and how often... they are slow sometimes... but to be in it's third year... it 's slow... feeding would surely help your Maya also.. to bloom

It may be only two, I can't remember exactly when I got it. I have to say, it mostly just has the extended release fertilizer. I have given it MG probably 2 or 3 times this year. I do not fertilize like I should, I have sooooo many plants. Last year it struggled and I thought at one time I had lost it, but this year it has done a whole lot better. Maybe I need to repot it in a bigger pot with fresh potting soil.

The leaf patterns on your Peaches 'n' Cream are gorgeous, but because there is so much more "cream' in the leaves, the growth will be slower. However, you can probably speed things up by feeding it liquid fertilizer like MG once a week or so. Time release fertilizer are a bit too slow for a Brug, whose appetite is much bigger.

My Peaches and Cream doesn't seem to tolerate the heat as well as Jamie or Maya. Now that the days are cooler, it is bouncing back.

If she has been in the same pot and soil for 2 years, she needs both a bigger pot and fresh soil. Ideally, they should get potted up or re-potted in the spring using fresh soil. I'm going to need help this coming spring.

I found a great solution to the fertilizer dilemma. I'm using an EZ Flo canister attached to the faucet and watering with a dilute amount of fertilizer every time I water. I got the large canister and can fertilize for quite a while before having to reload it with fertilizer. Using a 2 way faucet distributor, I can switch to the other hose if I don't want the fertilizer mixed in.

I have that also, in my geeenhouse. That sure helps. I just wonder if mine is working, because after awhile, I check and seems all the fertiz. is still in the bottom. Maybe I should shake it up before I water.

I haven't had that problem, but at the beginning, I had too much fertilizer coming out, even at the lowest setting. When I had to re-fill the tank with fertilizer again, I used less fertilizer. When the liquid in the tank loses its color, I dump the stuff that hasn't dissolved out. I have a lot of minerals in my well water and I'm not sure what that stuff is. Now I think it's building up in the small tubes and may have to dunk everything in vinegar to dissolve the lime.
