Gail is without a computer so maybe someone else will know the answer to the this one. What is the description for Sunshine Halo? I thought it was a trailer and maybe a semi or a mini? The leaves sure seem tiny in its current form. But I don't know anything else. I found a picture of it on the web but no description.
I kept 2 of the 4 plants I was sent (they were still attached together). They were each about 4-6 leaves when I separated them and one is up to 10 leaves but I do not know what I should do next. I think I need to pinch out the center so it makes more crowns, right? I just don't know how early you should do that. It's about 6 weeks since I separated them.
Sunshine Halo help
Oh shoot I just found the description of it. How silly of me. I thought I'd searched several times but here it is on the first search. (Lyon) Trailer. Semidouble fuchsia flowers over variegated foliage of cream, white and green; Semiminiature.
So it is a trailer and I need to learn how to create a trailer. I seem to recall that there is more than one type of trailer. Do you do anything differently for them?
Morning Anna,
Theres lots of violet info in the sticky's at the top of the AV forum.I found on article on trailers from Rob's site.Hope this helps.

Thank you. I just read it but it didn't help me nearly enough. I just do not understand the basics like when you make the decisions. I've read another article too that I found and it didn't help either. They either assume you know things you do not know or they do not tell you enough.
This one tells you to pick a certain type but I am afraid I have no idea which type any trailer is nor which type Sunshine Halo is. Then is says to pinch the center 3-4 weeks after rooting but each plant would be a different size based on this and some might not even be plants yet. In another article it said not to pinch the crown until you see if it grows suckers on its own but it didn't say how long to wait. This is also completely different from this article.
I was hoping someone here would be able to explain things like how many leaves should it have when you pinch the crown and if you should wait and how you can tell the type that you have.
The reason you are probably confused is that we have been growing for fun the Japanese way.........not like the instructions given in today's instructions ..........pinching out the two leaves on the top of each crown......so don't worry about it....
Anna,
I think Critter has a couple of great articles about trailers on this site!!
