I bought some bulbs to naturalize in the lawn. I was looking for those that would bloom and finish 'recharging' with their foliage before I have to mow.
I got:
Chionodoxa forbesii
Iris reticulata
crocus
and Ipheion uniflorum 'Rolf Fiedler'
I understand the Ipheion may not be good for the lawn since it has a long blooming and leafing-out period, although another source recommends it for the lawn.
Are these bulbs good to plant in the lawn?

Naturalizing bulbs in lawns- which ones?
The first three should work just fine.
Good naturalizing bulbs are the dwarf early bloomers.
Should be neat scene next spring in your garden.

Thanks Caroline! I hope they naturalize and don't have a problem with the heat of mid-Mississippi summer.

The crocus will be beautiful, I always seed the lawn with them and its lovely in the Spring.
