I don't think much introduction is needed to this great man who dedicated his life to bird watching. My younger daughter (almost 15) recently did a pencil sketch of him. I'm pleased to share this with the bird watchers of DG. Hope you like it.

dinu, I have a copy of Dr.Salim Ali's book "The Book of Indian Birds". It is a 1944 edition and my father used it in Sri Lanka (then called Ceylon) from 1944 to1946 and then gave it to me when I spent 6 months in Pakistan in 1964 and it was really my first introduction to bird-watching and I have been an avid bird-watcher ever since,

The book has note of all the birds my father saw in Ceylon and I added notes of the birds I met with in Pakistan.
