Anyone able to ID this plant?

noonamah, Australia

I posted a photo of this plant on another forum but was advised I might have a better chance of getting an ID on this forum.

It's an ideal plant for a hanging pot, I have it sitting on a tree stump in the garden and it's trailing down and attaching to the stump. Does anyone know what it's called? Thanks.

Hey tropicbreeze,

You have a pretty Episcia. I can't help you much with the name because some look so much alike. Kind of like A.V.s. Beautiful bloom!

I checked the "Episcia Tour" on the Gesneriad Reference Web and the closest I could come up with was Episcia 'Teddy Bear' followed by a close Episcia 'Pink Panther'. But the leaves make me lean towards 'Teddy Bear'.

Those are two good possibilities. It is so hard to confirm with pics. It is a very pretty plant. If you ever want more blooms, trim off some stolons. They tend to put their energy into the foliage instead of the blooms if you get too many on them and if they grow too long. I love them either way. You have done a great job with it!

Thanks Connie. In fact I've really ignored them. Most plants are safer that way, LOL.

Your very welcome tropicbreeze. So funny but true! I am now trying to get some a.v.s to grow and I think I am loving them to death. LOL Please feel free to share more pics with us. We love seeing pics on here! I know it makes my want list grow everytime I see one :)

My Pink Panther has more light green down the middle of the leaf and extending out to the sides so it is more two toned.

That's the impression I got Pat, that's why I went for the "Teddy Bear".
