Scary!

I am so in love with these longs spines now, Sue. And orange ones drive me crazy. But I am so afraid I am going to get my eye with one of them.

Maybe it's time to invest in safety glasses and wear them while gardening!

And taking pics at nurseries. You know me, I get focused on a plant and see nothing else. I go in for the money shot and a neighboring agave will get me.

Years ago I bent down in my garden to pull a weed and put my eye right on one of those bamboo stakes. I thought it was out. The pain was so bad. Another time I went down and a gladiola leaf went across my eyeball and cut it all the way across. After that, I did wear glasses for a couple of years.

I wear my glasses all the time and still manage to fling dirt in them but they do help.

What a beautiful shot!

Thank you Sue!

You know when I do wear goggles is when I use bug spray. And no matter, I still get it in my face and eyes. The other day I was spraying for the dreaded mite on my brugs. I went back into the kitchen to mix up a new batch, pulled my fogged up googles down around my neck and was taking off the top of my pressurized hand sprayer. I must have hit the push on button for as I twisted the top off, the nozzle sprayed the old mixture right up into my face. SHOOT! 20 minutes under the shower with my eyes open.

Last time I sprayed I was spraying for fungus and somehow as I was spraying with a hose end sprayer, I bent over to move a plant and tipped up the sprayer and up went the spray right under my goggles into my eyes. I ran inside into the shower a my husband called poison control. I was hysterical because some fungicides can cause blindness.
