Taberg is in Central NY, between Rome and Camden, about 75 miles north of Syracuse, in Oneida county. I haven't heard of Wappingers Falls either. Would that be upstate?

yes it is. its about 12 miles south of poughkeepsie. our county is right after putnam county.

Hi I am from Virginia. I have had a small vegetable garden for 6 years.
With each passing year it gets bigger. I am recently getting more into the
flowers. I plan to have vegetables on one side of the yard with a few flowers,
and flowers on the other side. There use to be an inground pool on the
left side of my yard divided by the deck. Now it's mostly filled with sand and
a little bit of dirt on top. I want all flowers where the pool was, right now
weeds are growing there. It still needs more dirt. Maybe if I work hard this
winter and add more topsoil, it will be ready for spring. I can picture the bees,
birds and butterflies there right now.

Welcome, zinniared! Sounds like a good plan, adding more soil amendments to have a plant-ready garden come spring.
