This goose was feeding with a flock of Canada Geese in New Jersey. It looks something like a snow goose, but it doesn't have black wing tips.... Can anybody confirm the species?
thanks
CLOSED: Snow Goose - maybe?
That is a very large goose, its a juvenile Snow Goose (white morph) as far as my field guide goes. A (blue morph) would be dark brown in color.
Farmyard domesticated goose.
Snow Goose is a lot smaller (smaller than Canada Goose), and has black wingtips.

The size of the goose in that pic might be a little confusing. This pic has the Canada Goose standing up, and shows that they are about the same size.
My guides show the Snow Goose at about 28", with the Canada running from 28-48, but any individual bird can be above or below the average ranges.
The question is still, if its not a Snow Goose, what else can it be?
Thanks
You know I seen that in my field guide (size) but I guess I let word Snow Goose steer me wrong, bad try on my part. Whats funny is growing up I had that same kind of Goose along with some others. My field guide did not show that particular goose under its domesticated section. :|
pics of Snow Geese in the wild. Hope they help you decide

Sorry Resin - I didn't notice the first line in your post about the domesticated goose. And thanks to Burd and Donna for your help.
we called those Toulouse geese. i don't know if that's a "proper" term or not.
actually it is almost like my male Pilgrim except it has to much gray. Probably a Pilgrim mix hybrid
this is my Toulouse

The goose that I saw does look a lot like the goose in Donna's pic, except for the gray being fainter. I did a search on "Pilgrim" after I saw your note and I came up with this page:

The goose that I saw looks a lot like the male Pilgrims.
that's what I thought too
