I have a gloxinia that I started from a leaf cutting. It is growing in a self-watering type african violet type pot and I have it in bright indirect light. The leaves and stems are pale and spindly. What should I do to help this plant become more robust?
Thanks

Gloxinia
Hi and welcome!! I am not an expert on Gloxinnia,but they prefer pretty good light.Have you been feeding it at all? It also may help to pinch it back.

Hi Lynn
The area has really good light. It is a south facing bay window and gets light for at least 6 hours a day. I just added some fertilizer but I had planted it in fresh soil that was sold for African violets. I have not pinched it back because there was not much to it yet.
Thanks

Hi There;
You say it's in a self watering pot?Did you adjust the soil mix for the pot?You must add additional pearlite to the soil for self watering, otherwise they stay to wet & will in time dye.I use self watering pots & mix use 1 part soil to 1 part pearlite.Mine do very well.

Only time for one post........on my brother's computer.....
I have a lot of gloxinia and they really need a lot of light......I am getting ready to add another fixture and grow them under 4 lights on one shelf for 11 hours a day.
Right now they don't look so hot because I moved them to the kitchen under 2 ft. lights (ran out of space) and leave the lights on 15 hours a day but that is not enough light.
