I have an Edward Goucher abelia that would do better in a spot with more sun. We planted it when we first moved in, and didn't really have a handle on the best spots for our new plants. It has been in a garden with too much shade for three years; how likely am I to damage it by trying to move it now?
transplanting Edward Goucher abelia
This is really the ideal time to transplant most shrubs. The soil will remain warm for some time yet and the roots will have a chance to get growing before the cold sets in. By next spring it should really take off.
Good luck with it.
