Hoya affinis

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

This is not in flower but I just thought I had to share this awesome growth. I received this from Carol as 2 cuttings a couple of months ago, thank Carol. Guess she has adjusted to Florida weather.

Nicely grown/growing H. affinis. i think this is one of my very favorites!!! Blooms and Blooms and Blooms - in the right conditions... and you have it, Dee!

This one just amazes me with so much of its growth. I have a few that have grown like crazy but nothing like this, but then I received great starts too, thank you Carol. Can't wait for blooms but I don't think it will happen now till spring maybe. We just got a cold front come in and it went down into the middle 40's. It's 7:00 am and 50, burr I am freezing. Moved the hoya's into the house yesterday when I got home so I think everyone will be ok. This is unusual to be this cold this early. We don't normally get cold till Jan.

Wow, great growing Dee! That is an awesome looking plant! I look forward to seeing photo's of the flowers when your lovely plant blooms! I had to go google that one and found a photo of the bloom at Logee's website, and if they have it correctly named, it sure is a pretty flower!

I checked and currently there are no photo's whatsoever of affinis in Plant Files: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/82662/ We need pic's of both the foliage and blooms there so I hope you will consider uploading your pictures.

Hmm, I got it from Carol and she has pictures of it. I don't mind posting a picture of the foliage and will of the flowers once it blooms again.

Lin, did you guys get any of this cold front. It was 48 this morning.

Hi ya Dee, weather reports have us 15-20º below normal. Last night our low was 50º and it was windy. Weather folks were saying with wind chill it felt 5 - 10º cooler. Our high today is going to be low 60's and tonight in the mid 40's. I'm enjoying this taste of cooler temperatures, and especially the low humidity! I really don't look forward to anything below @ 40º but this is a nice little change from the heat and humidity we've had for so long.
