I paint on silk and have recently started to grow Streps. Thanks to the wonderful people on this forum, my collection is growing rapidly. Here is one of my pillows with a strep plant as part of the design.

Hey Deb!
What a beaufitul pillow! Love the flowers and love the kitty too. I paint but I have never done silk screening. Great job!

Wow, gorgeous, Deb!
I used to take painting lessons- about 20 years ago!
How can I learn about painting on silk?
Hi Raisingsouls,
I'm pretty much self taught at the silk painting. I got a lot of my info at www.dharmatrading.com. They have a lot of good books on the subject as well as the best priced supplies around.
My webpage is pretty patchy at the moment, but if you want to see more it's www.debfdesigns.com.

Stunning! You do wonderful work!
Your work is simply georgeous.!!!
Wow, Deb- your work is beautiful, and certainly not cheap! Has the recession affected your business lately?
such a beauty.

Hi - thanks! Yes,raisingsouls, business has been dismal this year. It doesn't help that every outdoor craft fair I've done has had lousy weather. I've just come back from setting up for a fair tomorrow and Sunday. It's going to be really cold. Hopefully it won't snow again.
Each pillow and scarf is hand drawn with resist and painted. It's pretty time consuming so I can't charge less....
As you can tell, my garden is a major source of inspiration!
Just got back from Logees greenhouses in CT = WOW! Its just amazing. Not too many streps, and what they had looked smallish and tired out. But everything else was unbelieveable!
I ended up with a mandarin orange baby, sweet olive, fire orange clivia, thunbergia blue, and vanilla orchid. Yeah - it was fun!

I like that pillow, speaking of craft shows,im delivering leaves to someone coming to town,im so excite, found out they dont live real far
any body got suggestion of some i can send,im thinking of spin art and fernwoods minuet,or siloette, maybe hototogishu and some others
she only wants ten,she doenst know it yet but ill bet she wanted more, lol
JIM
I bet she will want more! I'm sure you can pick some good ones :) .
Hey, I found out what my Mom's lavender and yellow strep is called - it's "Lord Fauntleroy".
Its funny, more people are drawn to the cat than the plant on the pillow. I'm usually the other way around when I'm looking at artwork.
tamberlin,
Your work is lovely!!
Jim,
You have so many great Streps. no matter what you pick she will love!!How about maybe a variegated or fantasy added in??
its a pretty
one
JIM
That is exquisite!
