Mom giving me the evil eye,she will not let me near them and when they go outside with her she attacks the other silkie that was her buddy before, and the rooster had better not even look sideways at them or he will get it to,lol.

What cute unkempt little puffballs! What colour(s) are they going to be - perhaps you've told us before but I missed it.

One is a smoke color and the rest are a buff color like there mother with some other color mixed in,its kinda hard to tell untill they get feathers or whatever silkies get.You might be able to tell from the picuture what color they are.

Green I had to laugh cause I know just what you are talking about, The silkie moms are fierce about anyone even getting close to their babies. My silkie has attacked my wife several times for even going into the coop. She lets me in with no trouble as long as I don't approach her baby which is two weeks old. Wonderful moms but WOW stay away from baby. LOL

Oh they are so cute. I love Silkies, they are such soft little things. Our Silkie moms never attacked us. One did attack a cat just for walking past, he wasn't even interested in the babies but the mom saw him as a threat.
We have two Silkies sitting on eggs right now. We have tried to discourage anymore sitting this year, but we were on vacation for a week and they saw that as their opportunity to get the jump on us. Guess in a few weeks we will have some more little ones.

I feel so bad for her buddy that was her constent companion before she had the babies, she drives her away all the time and the buddy just walks around talking to herself and she looks so rejected.I want to put all the silkies in the small coop but untill she stops chasing her buddy I can`t do that. They were all in the small coop today and I thought to myself great this is gona work! no more had the thought crossed my mind when she chased her buddy out and let the rooster stay in with her and the chicks and off went the buddy again talking to herself and looking so sad as if to say I don`t know what I did that she doesn`t like me anymore.LOL

awww, once the babies are grown they may be buddies again. It's hard to be second hat to a bunch of cute fuzzy chicks.
