Ortho® EcoSense™ Brand* Insecticidal Soap

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Since I'm in the basement where I have some spiders and other bugs, I want to be preventative about caring for my AV's and Streps. I bought this product in Home Depot- do you think it's ok for the plants and effective at keeping away mealys and aphids?

Here's the label:

Active ingredient- potassium salts of fatty acids.

Kills adelgids, aphids, earwigs, grasshoppers, lacebugs, mealybugs, mites, plant bugs, leafhoppers, psyllids, sawfly larvae, scale insects, tent caterpillars, thrips, whitefly, woolly aphids and other listed pests.

For use on vegetables, fruit and nut trees, flowers, in homes and gardens... etc. May be used up to the day of harvest

Thanks, Mrsbonnie.

I'm spraying everything a few times a week. I'm deathly afraid of bugs ruining my collection!

I use the same stuff. I used to buy Safer brand Insecticidal soap at HD and Wal-Mart and then all of a sudden all they carried was a brand called Garden Safe .. now it's EcoSense by Ortho ... can't find any other brand so I bought the EcoSense and it works well. I haven't used it on Gessies but have used it for aphids and mealies on Hoya's and a couple of other plants.
