Need HELP PLEASE
I would be lying if I didn't say I'm total jealousy right now but I do have space in the brand new greenhouse if you want me store them, ven though you are a bit away. I've been told you can store them for winter, but mine are grown as houseplants year round
Hello!!! Are you saying you don't have room for them? If you do have room you could put them in pots, bring them in to where they don't freeze and just let them go dormant and then in the spring do what you want with them.
I am storing my tree roses in the basement for the winter (kinda ran out of flower pots that big,
I have them in pots but I was wanting to store them like my bulbs etc.. But I guess I cant because there is nothing but root. (RIGHT?) I also have 12+ Brugs that's why I don't have room. Has anyone ever stored a root with success?
I am making my first attempt at storing a root now, I know that doesn't help you now... If you can not find a suitable means to store them though, my offer still stands I can put them in my greenhouse and give them back to you next spring that is not a problem.
If it is a large root like the decorative sweet potato vines some of us grow they can be stored successfully just wrap them in newspaper slide em down in a paper bag and store in a cool dry place just like bulbs
trinawitch, Thank you for the offer but shipping would be to much.
The 'Illustris' has a very large root system, I'm not sure about the others really. I went to the biggest one first and that was the 'Illustris'. Then I said oh boy I better find out what to do.
What about this: Leave them in there pots & put them in a temperature of 55 to 70 in a dark place. Would this work. This is my 1st year with them. I am use to growing the green ones that have big bulbs.
Thanks so much for any help you can give me.
no shipping, that's just a day trip where I don't have to deal with my 5 teenagers, not a big deal! but I did store my illustrus for the winter, it was rather small as I just got it
