I'm going to be growing some morning glories indoors this winter and was hoping that some of the clever folks here might have some innovative ideas for trellises for indoor containers.
Any ideas for indoor morning glory trellises?
I tack the clear monofiliment fishing line up..inside or out... usually using a nail that will sit above the wall an inch or so... than I tie the clear fishing line to the head so the line runs off the wall ..and it can easily twine around it.. and it's quite invisable where there's no vine...
Hi...I've never grown morning glories in the house before. Sounds like fun. Do you use any special soil etc? All my morning glories have dried up outside on the trellis, so I could use the seeds from them. Thanks for the idea.

Hi Peg. Do you know about starting the seeds in paper towels in baggies? I've never had any luck just sticking them in soil, but pre-sprouting in paper towels almost always works.
Thanks...I'll give that a try today. Woofie, I have a few black wrought iron obesisk(sic) that are not real big, about 2' tall, that I'm going to try as a trellis. Bought them last at Walmart end of season sale.

I'm jealous. I didn't find anything cool like that when I checked our Walmart at end of season. I did find some cute little plastic trellises online that clip onto 5" pots. I'm going to get a few when my credit card recovers (grin).
I asked my son to get down the MG vines so I can get the seeds. He janked them loose from the big trellis over the sidewalk. Needless to say seeds scattered everywhere. I don't guess they will make it through the winter, but who knows. Some came back up this spring from scattered seeds in the whiskey barrels.
About the Walmart trellis, I couldn't believe it when I saw them on sale for $3.00. They only had 4 so I grabbed them.

Ha ha ha! If I get volunteers in my frigid zone, bet you'll have lots of little green heads peeking up come spring!
Your probably right that we get lots of volunteers. Then the mad wacker comes along and takes care of that. I have a delightful time trying to protect things, he goes a little crazy with that machine.
