White Wings

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Thought I put this up but didn't find it. This bloom was over 6" & last 3 days with our cooler, rainy weather. Usually much smaller.

I like it, I like it, I like it, Pure white around the red center is beautiful, can't stop thinking of all the hib I could cross pollinate it with, thanks Judy for posting it. BTW, know the name of it by any chance.

Judy, we had a discussion about White Wings in an earlier thread. Apparently there is some confusion about two different varieties and the following is how to determine which is which:

H. "White Wings" the pads are red
H. "Versicolor White" the pads are yellow

Based on your photo, yours have yellow pads and would be a Versicolor White.

Here is a photo of White Wings

Nice photo Judy. Yes, I remember that discussion also Dee.

Thanks everyone. Dee, I must have slept through the earlier lesson on White Wings. :-)
Another mislabeled plant from Lowe's. This did match the tag so I thought I was safe. Not like my "Painted Lady" that turned out to be Morning Star. That picture looked like PL. Will root you some of this Wilfred if you still want a Versicolor White instead of White Wings. Got another sweet friend who wanted to root WW & he has a fabulous collection. Hmmm.....wonder if he will still want a rooting of this orphan? You can let me know, Wilfred. My cuttings from last Fri are looking good....I'm very optimistic & can't wait for our next moon FAZE. Have any of you tried this? Reckon they are looking good cause we have had rain 11 of the 13 days this month. Thanks again, everyone.

Judy
