Interesting/Seedpod

Lakeland, FL(Zone 9a)

I have discovered my first seedpod today.

It's going to be interesting to see what will develop
from these seeds. I have not cross any brugs Thinking
The weather was to hot but some insect has done some
Hybridizing for me. The plant the seedpod is on is a
Painted Lady.

Congrats on your seedpod it looks like a painted lady pod. Here's a few of mine from Painted Lady last year. She is one of the easiest brugs to get pods on here. I think I am north of you.

Lenette, Do you have any photos of any of the crosses
From your painted lady. I Have read painted Lady

They are babies and haven't bloomed yet. Maybe they will next year. Last year, I crossed her with several different pollens.
I lost some of the pods to freeze so make sure you dig yours up if it is gonna freeze hard. I think they were safe With protection outside until it hit 28 but unfortunately it got into the low 20's here last winter. This year, I am making sure I dig mine once its gonna go under that point, maybe we will be lucky lol and not have such a cold winter.

Once you start hybridizing different brugs it is fun and interesting to see the different shapes of the pods on the mother plants. I think I posted some photos on Garden web last fall of a lot of various shaped pods.

Heres a few of the pods I had to pick early when the pods' stems froze. The pods were okay..but some immature. (You can still try and plant them.) It seems that the stems will freeze easier than the pods do.

Wow Lenette, You Have It Going On With All The
Seedpods. When It Cools Off a Little I Am Going
To Start Pollinating Some Of My Brugs.

Thanks For Posting All The Seedpods.
