Queen Victoria Century Plant 'Golden Princess'

My first attempt at a mail order 'Golden Princess' -- kind of beat up but amazing color.

Nice plant, but this is not Golden Princess.. this is a yellow variegation and Golden Princess is nearly white. This is a yellow variegated form of Agave victoriae reginae. Photo should be moved.

Thanks for letting me know. Am I just being a bit too sensitive, or did you mean to sound brusque? Because really, we are all just trying to help here!

I did notice that your original picture was more off white than yellow/gold.  Which is why I did a lot of looking around before I posted. From what I'm seeing, a lot of folks (that I would think are reasonably knowledgeable) seem to think this is yellow. It certainly makes more sense gauging from the name.  Obviously the fact that it was labelled that way when I bought it doesn't mean much.  But I did get another from Tony Avent that was yellow too.  At the time it was labelled golden princess aka kazo bano.  Now I see they are selling it as Kazo Bano.  But here are some other references that say the same thing.

The last one is a thread that you posted on xericforum regarding this question. The info there seemed to indicate that the white one wasn't GP.  Did you receive a private communication to the contrary? Or is there some other definitive reference on this sort of thing?

Sometimes typed words do not sound as bland as they were meant to be. I did not mean anything insulting or even negative by my comment, and in fact, your research on this cultivar suggests that the rest of the photos might need to be moved elsewhere and yours stay where it is. Perhaps what has been identified as Golden Princess previously was incorrect (or as someone suggested on your last hypelink, that the white form does not have a cultivar name). Either way, the forms on this page do not match up and someone needs to move, and it looks like it will have to be the other photos. I will get the administrators to do that. Sorry if I seemed brusque.

Do you still have your Golden Princess? I'd love to see a photo of it now. I'm sure it has grown some. I can't figure out which is supposed to be which on the searching I've done either. Seems Ivory Princess would be a better name for the cream/green and Golden Princess for the more yellow/green that doesn't quite look like the regular variegated victoriae-reginae that I have at least a dozen of. I know I'm slobbering over those pictures that Palmbob posted of it
