Hello,
I am actually posting for my mother who has two houseplants, a Hibiscus and some foliage plant (she doesnt know the name). She has mealybugs on them. How do you get rid of them?
Thanks,
Danielle
Mealybugs...help
I take rubbing alcohol and q-tips and wipe them off the plants. I have also heard some folks say they mix rubbing alcohol and water in a spray bottle and spray their plants. I have a spray bottle with straight alcohol that I use on some of my plants. My plants stay out on the deck almost year round and alcohol evaporates quickly so I've never had a problem spraying them.
Insecticidal soap for plants also works well, you can usually find it at Home Depot.
Bonide whitefly and mealybug spray if too infested.
Yes, I have had much luck with a spray bottle of straight (90%) rubbing alcohol. But, that can cause spots on some leaves. Test first.
