for the smaller birds in these 2 shots. They were taken from long range and they wouldn't move for a profile shot.

I thought perhaps Short-billed Dowitchers ; what do you think?

The large ones are Willets.

The winter Dowitcher's do look alike, I guess that extra 1/2 inch on the Long-billed is the bill itself.

Yep. Doesn't help though that they overlap a lot in bill length! You need really close views to see the subtle differences in things like the barring on the tail feathers. Habitat can be a help (Long-billed prefers fresh water marshes, Short-billed prefers intertidal mud and salt water), but isn't 100% reliable.
