Rain do you think Fancy Pants is related to Tar Jar Roger ? or is the pic darker than the plant really looks , I have Tar Jar and it loos just like your pic but I don't have Fancy Pants so I can't compare , do you have both and can say what the difference is to your eye ?

My Tar Jar looks lighter than your Fancy Pants but I have to say some of my blooms are a lot darker than this pic shows but maybe Fancy has less of the dark pink in the blooms ? Just wondering what you think Rain :)

another pic , I guess I think your Fancy is a more maroon base color and mine is a more purple .....................LOL I am talking to myself trying to figure it out , LOL

I looked them both up on the Strep info site and this is the description of Tarjar:
Tarjar's Roger W. (E. Rourke) Dark blue-purple flowers heavily streaked with pink fantasy marks. (AGGS register)
Fancy Pants has no description there, and I can't find one anywhere.
I don't have Tarjar, so I can't compare them, but mine's almost as dark as the pic above, not quite, but almost. It's not maroon based, I don't think. I wish I had Tarjar so I could compare them. Your Tarjar looks a little more "vivid" than Fancy Pants. Does that make sense? LOL

Yes I think maybe because it has more dark pink ? your Fancy Pants seems to have smaller patches of pind but then the flowers can vary so much from one bloom to the next but my Tar Jar has a lot of dark pink in the blooms and maybe my blooms are more blue/purple and your's are more red /purple ?
Anyway I love your Fancy and I love my Tar Jar so I guess we are both happy :) I do have two leaves of Fancy to plant so I guess sometime soon I can compare them ....................unless the leaves don't give me the fantasy blooms , I do have a dark pink that is the unfantasied sister of Tar Jar , they were both together in the pot when I bought them from a sweet lady on ebay named Sandra , she was such a nice lady and I haven't seen her listing this year so I hope she is ok , she had knee surgery on both knees last summer and so maybe just took a while to heal and didn't have time to list , i had talked to her a few times ND SO TRIED TO EMAIL HER THIS sPRING AGAIN BUT i GOT THE EMAIL BACK AS i GUESS SHE CLOSED HER ACCOUNT OR GOT A DIFFERENT EMAIL ADDRESS ...............oops hit caps and was just typing away without looking LOL anyway I have talked your eyes off enough but thank you for reading and giving me your thoughts on the two streps that are soooooooo lovely :)
