Clare Corre

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

This is the flower named after me, hybridized by my dear friend Kukiat. It's a lovely large flower with beautiful veins.

I look forward to it being commercially available. This is a must in my garden.

The weather is starting to get colder at night so the flower colors are not as intense as they usually are.

Hi Nery! You are so sweet. When Kukiat releases it to the public, you know that I will send a piece of it to you. You've been such a good friend to me too!

Here's another flower:

I've been waiting to get a really good picture of the flowers. I think another heat wave will help to bring out the veins more, but I love this flower no matter how light or dark the flower shades are.

That's very pretty.

totally awesome. The veining is spectacular. You're a hybridizing genius, Kukiat.

Patumthani, Thailand(Zone 11)

Hi Neri, ours posts were just a second apart! Thanks for the compliment.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

wow... the veining is incredible... love the colors, on both Clare's and Hetty's... how big is that flower?? What does it smell like??

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks so much, Kukiat, for posting that picture. I think, if mine starts to bloom when it is really hot out, I will have the same coloration as you do. No matter though -- I love this flower!

Nery, I totally agree with you that Kukiat is a hybridizing genius. He has the magic touch in the garden.

Thanks, Brittany! I will go measure the flower, but I would say mine are two-and-a-half to three inches. The flowers smells sweet with a little spice to me -- like a hint of 'Grove Farm.'

Patumthani, Thailand(Zone 11)

Another pic. of Clare Corre in the palm of my hand. From this we may be able to approximate the size of the flower.

Wow, Kukiat, that is actually a big flower. I think my flowers may be small due to the weather at this time. Other flowers that are normally big are smaller right now too.

I have small hands, but when I measure across the fingers and a little over, it's three inches, and your hands must be bigger than mine so it may be closer to four inches. Thanks for posting that picture. It is such a beautiful flower;-)

Patumthani, Thailand(Zone 11)

Yes, Clare. This is the four in. flower.

Over four inches! Wow! You know, my tree is small still, and I bet my flowers will get bigger as the tree gets bigger as well. This is the first time it has bloomed for me. I think it will bloom with more intense colors and bigger in size during a warmer season. Thanks, Kukiat!

Kerkdriel, Netherlands

Thanks, Cheryl! Fancy meeting you here! LOL! How are your Dwarf Namwah's doing?

Kerkdriel, Netherlands

wow I didn't know they could get such big flowers! Never seen that before!

Killeen, TX(Zone 8a)

The DNW's are doing great!
Repotted them up today - they'll be taking off again!!
I thank you for your potting & seed info here in the plumeria section...
I had received 4 random 12" cuttings and I was wondering how to pot them up!

:) ~Cheryl

Thanks, Jori. I love the big flowers. Plumeria flowers can range from an inch across to five or six inches across. You can really see a difference between flowers when you have them all in a plumeria ring.

Oh, you're welcome. I'm glad I could help. Here's a link to my article in case you didn't see it: http://davesgarden.com/guides/articles/view/45/ Do you have a green house? If you are going to root them this fall outside, be sure to bring them indoors to your house or greenhouse before it starts to get cold at night. If you have a plant heating pad, they will root so much faster if you set them on the heating pad or some other warm surface.
