I have a good many of my bromelaids blooming and have decided that I'd like to try my hand at growing some of them from seeds. Can anyone give me advice about when and where to look for the seeds and when is the time to harvest them?
I've heard different stories that they are hard to raise from seeds to it's not that hard. So any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance, and Happy Gardening Marian
These are when I first bought a few broms. Now I have around 100 and want many many more. Yelp I'm addicted it's too late!

When, Where, and How to Gather Bromelaid seeds
Hi Marian, it would take ages to write a post about it, but you could try starting here. http://anwyl.com/articles/growing%20from%20seed.htm
or google 'growing bromeliads from seed' which comes up with plenty of articles.
I have grown a few, and found them to be easy, but you must be patient and water/mist them regularly, aswell as find the right spot to grow them in.
Good luck and have fun
Sue
But when do seeds come from the bromeliads or how do you get them to seed or is it something that can be manipulated?
Well I'm sure the seeds come from the blooms but since they have different blooms I'm not sure exactly where to look for the seeds. LOL I know that most of mine have pups on the sides and that's one way to get extra plants. I just think trying to grow some from seeds would be fun. I grow daylilies and a few other plants from seeds so I thought I might as well try growing broms from seeds too. I love adventure and watching and learning how to grow different plants from seeds.
Thanks for the link SUE!!! I read your post all the time and know how knowledgeable you are regarding growing broms.
Good Luck, Marian
