Another NOID

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

This was supposed to have been Mountain Magic ... When My Mountain Magic looked like a goner, I purchased a rooted cutting of Mountain Magic through e-Bay. I should have known better. However, it exhibits some good traits. It set 1 to 3 buds all summer long last year when most of my Brugs went dormant because of the dry hot summer we had. The blooms were a pale two toned yellow, looking like Brugmansia "Lemon Twist" that was sold by Park a year or two ago.

Some blooms are paler in winter while others are darker. These were darker this past winter. It fell victim to the grasshoppers this spring and summer, but is making a comeback.

well Betty I do have that MM and it sure is not the same....you need to find out who is reliable on e bay before going back there ...what a disappointment it must be, AGAIN to find out it is not what you bought :-( I would share mine, but last winters frost did so much damage...that it did not even grow much this season. But that is one I really really loved last year.

Things sometimes have a way of working out. My Mountain Magic recovered and if I can nurse this noid back to health, I'll have one that seems to thrive in Texas weather and a yellow one to boot. I really love yellow Brugs. I just wish it were immune to grasshoppers. LOL

I've since learned not to buy except from those I know, but at that time, I wasn't paying much attention to the seller and whether he/she could be trusted. I forgot the old adage, "Buyer beware" and P.T. Barnum's about a sucker being born every minute.
