Is 55 to cold for mama to take out her babies in the run? She had them out the other day but it was a little warmer.They are 2 week old,they are growing so fast and she is such a great mother.
How cold is to cold for baby chicks?
Two week old, with mom @55%should not be a problem at all. If they are cold they will go under and warm up, if its to cold mom will bring them in or care for them out doors. I would be careful of going much lower than that however.
Thanks Hay the sun has not come out and its 52 right now so I guess I will wait for a sunny day.
My silkies raised a batch of chicks outside in a coop in December! And it was one of the coldest winters in a long time.
If we ever see the sun again I will let them out but calling for rain and cold the next couple days.
