Cats and Valerian?

I've started taking a valerian capsule and everytime i open my medicine box my cat comes running and tries to get in the box and than wants my capsule. Do cats have a thing for valerian? or is my Kittykat more unusual than i thought she was? Does it hurt cats? and maybe i should grow some for her nrxt year.
