Fall Bulbs are arriving!!

Arnett, WV(Zone 5b)

I have gotten several pkgs in the last few days. I would bet a lot of you have too. Lets share in our hauls! LOL

I would love to share some photos and bulbs, as well as info. Such as who is sending the nicest bulbs and best pkgs. What quality are the bulbs? Who is providing the best constmer service?

As well I thought, that maybe a few of us have some extras( bulbs) we want to share with one another.

What do you all think?

Ill start it out: I got an order from Van Engelen Inc. Everthing was packed beautifully!! I had ordered 5 White Giant Allium only 3 was in the box and one of the pkg of eremurus was frail looking. I called and spoke to the most wonderful lady she replaced them immediately... It is so nice to receive good customer service..

Not so with Wayside gardens They are they rudest customer service I have ever delt with. That is one company that will no longer get my hard earned money.

I have been trying to post a photo but so far no good.

I will have :
1 or 2 foxtail lillies
10-25 twilight crocus
5 Ivory Queen alliums

I have 100 Asiatic lily bulbs coming from White Flower Farm sometime this month. First time I have ordered from them.

I am starting with a clean slate. Hope to have first cottage garden going by next summer. Completely new at this. These will be the first bulbs I have ever planted in my life!

The mix is supposed to look like this. Won't know until late next spring. Wish me luck!

Thank you! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't mess it up. LOL

Sandy,I can take care of these two now (corydalis & bloodroot) . I can send you a corydalis lutea (large) but the bloodroot will have to wait till Spring ,as they are already sleeping.

Thanks, Sandy. When I opened the email they sent and that was the first thing I saw, it nearly took my breath away. To be safe, I'm starting with a monochromatic color palette ... everything from burgundy to white and all the pinks in between. I may choose the wrong flowers but hopefully mistakes in colors will be few and far between.

Just got these today from Netherland Bulb Company and impressed and very happy. Usually buy bulbs from Walmart since they are just annuals here and don't want to spend much on something so frivolous that may just last a week if that. Two hundred Appeldoorn Elite! Spent more for less at Wally World too. Bulbs are very nice and bigger than I expected. They will go into the fridge tomorrow for planting about Jan 1 or so. Not bad for 56.00 including shipping. Now, those are just two big great bags of bulbs, and the price is right too :)
Now just say that 10 times in a row.....WITHOUT BREATHING :)

Hey, Frank1965, those bulbs look great---have you ordered from them before? I just placed an order, then read their feedback and it is quite mixed. Seems like most of the complaints were for plants, but definitely some for bulbs. Anyone used them before? Should I cancel or take my chances?

Prices reasonable, but this late in the season I suspect I can get good prices many places as I'm only looking for Darwin Hybrids, nothing new or particularly noteworthy....

These are the bulbs I have right now to share for other bulbs:

20 twilight crocus

Daffs
3 Cool Flame
3 Prof Einstien
3 Gazelle
3 Rainbow

Alliums
2 White giants
3 -5 Ivory Queen

Its been to wet to plant so I should have more later as I plant them.
